Authorities have confirmed that two men fatally stabbed at a business location in central London were identified as father and son. Terry McMillan, 58, from Chislehurst in Bromley, was declared dead at the scene, while his 27-year-old son, Brendan McMillan, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
In addition to the McMillans, three other individuals were hospitalized following the incident, which occurred around 1 p.m. on Monday at a property on Long Lane, a thoroughfare in Southwark that leads to Borough station.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. According to police, he remains hospitalized, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
Brendan McMillan was remembered as a cherished member of the Old Colfeians Rugby Club in Eltham. The club described him as “one of the kindest, funniest, most genuine people you could ever meet,” noting his perpetual smile and loving nature. Terry McMillan was acknowledged as a long-time supporter and sponsor of the club.
Terry McMillan founded a property and investment firm in 1998, as noted by The McMillan Family Trust, a charity dedicated to aiding children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In a statement on Tuesday, police elaborated on the circumstances surrounding the incident, confirming that it took place on business premises and that a crime scene had been established at a nearby hotel where the arrested individual sought refuge. Authorities also addressed rumors regarding the suspect’s stay at the hotel, stating, “We are aware of speculation the man was staying at the hotel, this is not the case.”
