A pub in Nuneaton is holding a heartfelt tribute in memory of Ozzy Osbourne as he is laid to rest today. The funeral cortege for the Black Sabbath frontman will make its way through his hometown of Birmingham later this afternoon, July 30.
Crowds are expected to gather along Broad Street, where they will pay their respects at significant locations, including the Black Sabbath Bridge and the commemorative bench, around 1 PM. Among the attendees will be staff from The Crew, a pub renowned for its status as a popular rock venue in the area.
In light of the occasion, The Crew has announced its closure “as a mark of respect,” ensuring their staff can attend the ceremony. “All of the staff at The Crew and Queens Hall will be joining the masses in Birmingham for the Prince of Darkness’ funeral procession,” the pub stated. “As a mark of respect, the pub will be closed until 3 PM.” Osbourne’s wife, Sharon, along with their children, Kelly and Jack, are expected to follow the procession. A private funeral service will take place later today.
