Rising Star Rio Ngumoha
At just 16 years old, Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha is set to make a significant impact for the Reds this season, following a dazzling pre-season performance. Ngumoha showcased his talent with a remarkable solo goal during a friendly match against Athletic Bilbao, where he curled a shot from 20 yards into the net just two minutes into the game. He not only scored but also provided an assist, helping his team to a 4-1 victory before receiving a standing ovation as he left the pitch.
Having joined Liverpool from Chelsea, Ngumoha caught the attention of Reds scouts during the U17 Premier League Cup final against Wolves in April 2024. Despite Chelsea’s attempts to block his transfer, he made the move to Merseyside, with former player John Terry praising his abilities and potential.
Ngumoha became the second-youngest starter in Liverpool history during a match against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup last January, at the age of 16 years and 135 days.
