Liverpool is reportedly not planning to sign a direct replacement for Luis Diaz, who is poised to finalize a £65.5 million transfer to Bayern Munich this week. Sky Sports Germany has indicated that Diaz will be officially unveiled by Bayern on Thursday afternoon, prompting speculation about who might fill the gap left by his departure.

According to The Athletic, the club intends to rely more heavily on Cody Gakpo, while promising youngster Rio Ngumouha, who has impressed during pre-season, will provide additional competition and support in the squad.

However, Spanish publication Marca, as cited by Sport Witness, suggests that Liverpool is increasingly considering a move for Rodrygo in light of Diaz’s exit. The report reveals that Rodrygo is awaiting clarity on his future and plans to engage in discussions with his current club upon returning to training.

In other developments, Tottenham Hotspur has shown interest in Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott this summer, as reported by TBR. Spurs seemed close to securing Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White after triggering his release clause, but Forest’s resistance means the player has not yet signed a new three-year contract.

Sources indicate that Elliott has emerged as a potential alternative target for Spurs, with Liverpool valuing the academy graduate at around £50 million.
