A man was apprehended following a disturbance on an easyJet flight en route to Scotland. The incident occurred after the plane, having departed from London Luton Airport, landed at Glasgow Airport around 8:20 AM on Sunday.

Footage circulating on social media reportedly depicts a man shouting phrases including “death to America, death to Trump” and “Allahu Akbar,” the Arabic expression meaning “God is greater.” The video shows him being restrained by two passengers who tackled him to the floor.

Police Scotland confirmed the arrest of a 41-year-old man, who is currently in custody. Authorities are continuing their investigation, with a spokesperson stating, “At this time we believe the incident was contained and that nobody else was involved.” They also acknowledged the videos online, which are under review by counter-terrorism units.

This incident coincides with US President Donald Trump’s private visit to Scotland. An easyJet representative noted, “Flight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow yesterday was met by police on arrival in Glasgow, where they boarded the aircraft and removed a passenger due to their behaviour on board.” The spokesperson emphasized that easyJet’s crew members are trained to handle such situations swiftly to ensure the safety of all passengers and staff. “The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority,” they added.
